The 3-Bed London Townhouse

I love the 3-bed townhouses that London has to offer…

I honestly think that many of them are amongst the most stunning homes in the world…

Many of the most sought after 3-bed townhouses are located around one of London’s prime garden squares, and typically have between 3 to 5 storeys.

Historically speaking, in a 5 storey townhouse, the ground floor and first floor was for the family.

Below the ground floor would be where staff historically lived.

So:

The basement would be comprised of working quarters…

The lower ground floor would be public rooms…

The ground floor would be the main drawing room and family rooms…

The first floor would typically be grand bedrooms…

The top floor would be staff quarters…

“What a 3-bed townhouse offers potential buyers is a genuinely efficient way of living in the centre of London.”

Over the past two decades, it has become more trendy and indeed more popular for buyers to seek lateral living.

Townhouses have often been converted into flats by developers, as well as being converted into offices.

This of course makes sense if you are a developer and you are running your numbers and the numbers make sense...

However, 3-bed townhouses in Prime London are often freehold, have the potential for vast spaces and have privacy that a flat can usually not offer.

What a 3-bed townhouse offers potential buyers is a genuinely efficient way of living in the centre of London.

Now, there are townhouses outside of Prime Central London and Prime London.

However, within Prime Central London they command premium prices.

As an example, 3-bed townhouses in prime areas of London typically start at £2,500,000 and have hit heights of £12,000,000 in the last 5 years.

3-Bed townhouses, for some people, aren’t particularly practical…

Some 3-bed townhouses are narrow…

Some 3-bed townhouses usually have a lift installed to make them easier to live in…

Some 3-bed townhouses have a gym in the basement or a swimming pool…

I’d highly recommend that buyers look into 3-bed London townhouses instead of a flat.

They can be truly stunning!
