The Pros And Cons Of Working From A 2-Bed Home In London

The home office…

For a lot of 2-bed London flat buyers, having a home office is becoming more and more popular and higher in their wish-list.

Some buyers use the box room (the smallest bedroom) as a home office, whilst others build a home office in the garden (if their flat has a private garden!)...

Is is really up to the home buyer!

Pros of working from home

  • For a lot of people, if everyone is able to work from home, it enables them to not have to worry about a commute to and from the office, as such.

  • (Potentially) get more value for money in terms of your flat.

  • Save money (on commuting/ petrol, etc).

  • Save time .

  • (Potentially) more flexible working hours.

  • More time with family.

  • (Potentially) less stressful.

  • You can create your dream work environment.

  • Time to (potentially!) exercise more and eat more healthily.

  • A great sense of the all important work/ life balance.

Cons of working from home

  • Possible distractions.

  • Poor posture - if you’re sat at your desk all day.

  • Lack of human interaction.

  • Lonely.

  • Your mind can wander off task.

  • Your motivation could decrease.

  • (Potential) burn out from working and living in the same space.

If you can work from home from your 2-bed flat, and you have a private garden, I would personally try and have a separate working space/ home office that is completely separate from the 2-bed flat…

I would think of all of the potential pros and cons and work out if working from home is a) a genuine possibility and b) something that you feel that could do.

Have you ever thought about working from a home office?
