Living In Totteridge, London

What Makes it Unique?

Totteridge is a leafy, green north London suburb, which is located roughly 11 miles from Mayfair.

Totteridge is an escape that offers peaceful living, yet is so close to central London!

It is one of London’s most exclusive residential areas and is bordered by Whetstone (to the east), Barnet (to the north), Mill Hill (to the west) and Finchley (to the south)…

If residents are staying in Totteridge for the weekend, life often revolves around The Orange Tree, which is a very popular pub and restaurant, set next to a duck pond.

Totteridge itself doesn’t have many amenities...

However, in Whetstone (between 2 and 10 minutes away from Totteridge depending on what part of Totteridge you live in) has a good high street (known as the ‘High Road’) including an M&S Simply Food and a Waitrose, as well as restaurants and cafes, such as Al Fresco and El Vaquero.

People often move to Totteridge from areas such as Hampstead, Islington and Finchley and move there for the open, green roads…

The Manor Association is a charity in Totteridge that looks after 54 acres of Totteridge’s green spaces and make sure that it retains it’s rural feel, which the local residents love!

For those that like their golf, Totteridge is home to The South Herts Golf Club.

There’s also a tennis club and a cricket club - aptly named Totteridge Tennis Club and Totteridge Millhillians Cricket Club - and The All Saints Arts Centre holds a range of events throughout the year.

Schooling is a big draw to Totteridge for home buyers…

Private schools that are within commuting distance include Mill Hill, Aldenham School, Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Girls’ School.

Popular local schools include St Andrew’s Church of England school, St Michael’s and Finchley Catholic High.

Totteridge & Whetstone station takes commuters to Leicester Square in 30 minutes, to Charing Cross station in 32 minutes and Waterloo station in 36 minutes, which is incredible seeing as it feels like Totteridge is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of central London!
