Raising Children In A 3-Bed Central London Apartment

Have you ever considered raising children in central London?

For some people, it would be a dream!

To others, it would be crazy!!

What are some of the pros?

What are the some of the cons?

Pros Of Raising Children In Central London

Parks

Central London is home to a number of superb parks, such as Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and Holland Park.

If you live near to one of these parks, or opposite one of them, would be an incredibly ‘pro’ for raising children.

It could almost take the place of a private garden for a number of families, that you don’t have to tend to or look after!

Transport

The transport system is great in London…

Whether it’s to take children on days out, to visit friends or relatives or to travel to and from school, having access to the London Underground, and one of the better stops/ lines, is a huge reason for raising children in Central London.

Imagine being able to walk your children to school and then hop on the tube and go to the West End on a Friday evening to watch a show!

Amazing!

Diversity

London is an extremely cosmopolitan and diverse city, which is a great thing, as your children will meet people who are very different to themselves.

This will help to open their eyes to people of different races, backgrounds, wealth, religions, etc.

Museums

There are nearly 140 museums in London, with some of the best, such as The National Gallery, The British Museum, The London Transport Museum and The Science Museum.

Museums are a great way to educate your children on a rainy day and to open their eyes to new things!

Cons Of Raising Children In Central London

Danger

Cities, generally speaking, are more dangerous for both children and adults when compared to small towns or villages in the suburbs...

Might you, for example, feel safer walking your child to and from school?

Might you feel safer driving your children to and from school?

Does your 3-bed apartment have a 24-hour porter?

Is the door to your 3-bed apartment reinforced?

Do some research into which areas of Central London look the safest and what floor you’d ideally like to live on, and start your search for a 3-bed apartment there.

Schooling

Some of the best schools in the world are based in Central London…

On the flip side, that means that there is incredibly high demand for places!

Some schools have links with certain nurseries…

Other schools have a nursery, which allows children to naturally go into Pre-Prep!

Would you prefer a state school?

Would you prefer a private school?

Definitely do your research and work out the pros and cons of each school!

Costs

3-Bed family apartments in Central London that are close to great schools and one of the Royal Parks are amongst the most expensive 3-bed apartments in the world…

Here’s an example of some 3-bed apartments that are currently for sale:

One Hyde Park, Knightsbridge - 3-beds - £25,000,000

Grosvenor Square, Mayfair - 3-beds - £22,000,000

The Bryanston, Marble Arch - 3-beds - £19,000,000

Arlington Street, St James’s - 3-beds - £15,500,000

Beaufort Gardens, Knightsbridge - 3-beds - £14,500,000

Now…

Are all family 3-bed apartments in Central London this expensive?

Of course not!!

However, I would budget for at least £1,500,000 if you’re looking for a 3-bed apartment that is close to a great private school!
