London Homes With A Hyde Park View
If you’re after a home with a view of Hyde Park, I would look no further than W2…
W2 is made up of Bayswater, Paddington, Queensway, Hyde Park, Westbourne Green, parts of Little Venice, Westbourne Green and parts of Notting Hill.
The W2 postcode is set directly to the north of Hyde Park.
In this article, I am referring to W2 as being Bayswater, Paddington, Queensway and Hyde Park, due to their proximity to Hyde Park.
At this current moment in time these areas lack the class of the likes of Mayfair, Knightsbridge and Belgravia.
The area is not exactly well known for it’s high end shopping experience.
Queensway is one area within W2 which adds to the run down feeling of the area.
At this current moment in time, you can buy a circa 1,000 sq ft, 3-bed share of freehold flat literally opposite Hyde Park in a great part of W2 for circa £1,500,000 - £1,600,000.
“At this current moment in time these areas lack the class of the likes of Mayfair, Knightsbridge and Belgravia.”
Seeing as properties such as this have been on the market for a number of months, there may be some negotiation to be had on the asking price, too…
Flats like this are roughly a 15-20 minute walk from Mount Street and all that Mayfair has to offer and are a 5-10 second walk from Hyde Park (yes, seriously!)...
W2 is undergoing some serious renovations and redevelopments…
Crossrail (if it is ever completed!) via Paddington will offer commuters quick access to Canary Wharf as well as the City.
Whiteleys shopping centre is being redeveloped which will change the area immensely.
The shopping centre is being designed by the world famous Foster + Partners.
There are plans in place to create a £1 billion mixed-use scheme that will reportedly create more than 550,000 sq ft of residential homes as well as bring shops and more life to the area.
Included in the plans is a 111-room hotel element to the plans, which will reportedly be made up of 145,000 sq ft of space.
Queensway is also reportedly due to undergo a £50 million redevelopment.
I would seriously look into buying a 1-bed, 2-bed or 3-bed flat in W2 that directly overlooks Hyde Park.
It is a nice area in which to live (if you choose a nice part of W2) and the area as a whole is due to undergo a lot of development over the course of the next few years and potentially the next decade, which should only increase prices.
When you compare W2 to nearby Notting Hill and Marylebone, it is an absolute steal.
Yes, it is still expensive, but it is far cheaper than it’s neighbouring prime central London locations.
Have you ever thought about living in a 1-bed, 2-bed or 3-bed flat that overlooks Hyde Park?
If so, would you consider living in W2?
