Living In Bayswater, London
What Makes it Unique?
Bayswater is located in a superb part of London, just north of Hyde Park, which makes it an outstanding place in which to live.
It is surrounded by Notting Hill - to the west - Marylebone - to the east - and Maida Vale to the north and is surprisingly affordable in comparison to Notting Hill and Marylebone.
It does have an ‘up and coming’ feeling to it in certain parts, but it has certainly improved a lot in terms of appeal in recent years - in particular over the course of the past decade.
Bayswater is home to a lot of beautiful properties with white stucco terraced houses and flats that surround private garden squares as well as the flats that directly face Hyde Park arguably being the most desirable to potential home buyers.
Foreign buyers tend to focus on buying new build properties with superb amenities, whilst the classic white stucco fronted terraced houses and flats tend to be bought by local families…
Of course this is simply what typically happens and there are many exceptions to this rule!
Whiteleys shopping centre, along with certain pockets of Bayswater and the W2 postcode as a whole, is undergoing huge redevelopment and will breathe new life to Bayswater and W2, raising property prices along the way…
There’s a brilliant residents association (the BRA - The Bayswater Residents Association) which works on behalf of the members to firstly maintain and then improve the neighbourhood as a whole.
There are 5 underground stations located nearby, which makes Bayswater a fantastic place to live in terms of commuting. These include Bayswater, Queensway, Lancaster Gate, Royal Oak, and Paddington tube stations…
With the redevelopment that is going on in the area as a whole and the opening of Crossrail (whenever that may actually be!) the future is looking very bright for Bayswater…
