Living Through A 3-Bed London Home Renovation
You’ve bought your dream 3-bed London home!
You’re incredibly excited - and quite rightly so!
You should be!
However, you need to do major renovations to the 3-bed house…
What should you plan for, when living through a home renovation?
Short-Term Rental
Renting a property in the short term could be the best option for you to take…
You won’t be living in a home that is undergoing constant renovation (honestly, just think of all of the noise and distractions!!) and you will be able to mentally switch off from what is happening in your new home.
It can be quite expensive, depending on where you are looking to rent, of course, but it can be the best option for many!

Make A Clear Plan
It is absolutely crucial to plan the renovation properly…
Add on around 25% to the proposed completion time/ date that you are quoted for the work, but set a break clause in any rental agreement that you go into, so that you can move out if the work is completed on time!
Make sure that you take any belongings that you need with you and box everything else up that you will not be using - treat everything as if you are moving!
Why do you need to do this…?
So that your belongings don’t get dusty and ruined!
Designated Living Space
If you are going to stay in your 3-bed home when it is renovated, make sure to keep some designated living space!
Could you, for example, change the kitchen and bathrooms last, so that they can be used throughout the rest of the renovation?
Or, could you renovate the bedrooms last?
Could you live downstairs whilst renovations are going on upstairs or vice versa?
Have you ever lived through a 3-bed home renovation in London?
If so, what was it like?
