Living In Highgate, London

What Makes it Unique?

Highgate is one of the most sought-after residential areas in London for families and is located in North London.

It is a leafy and idyllic village and is popular thanks to its very good schools…

Highgate School and Channing are two of the most well regarded schools and places for these schools can be incredibly competitive!

Highgate is full of green spaces:

  • Highgate Wood is made up of 70 acres ancient woodland.

  • Highgate Cemetery is often used for an evening walk thanks to its attractive buildings and gravestones and surrounding plants and flowers (yes, seriously!).

  • Waterloo Park is a 26 acre park with some stunning views of the London skyline.

  • Hampstead Heath is a 790 acre green public space, which is incredibly with everyone who visits either Highgate or Hampstead.

The ‘food scene’, for want of a better phrase, is great in Highgate!

It caters to a range of tastebuds, including chains such as Cote Brasserie and independent restaurants such as Fabrizio Restaurant.

There are many great pubs in and around Highgate, including The Flask, The Duke’s Head and The Prince of Wales.

There is a genuine community feel to those that live in Highgate and call it home…

Every year, on every Saturday during the month June, local residents meet at Pond Square for community get together, which is run by volunteers.

There are food stalls, drink stalls, fairground rides, amongst many other activities!

Transport to and from Highgate is good…

Highgate station and Archway station, which are both on the Northern Line, give commuters direct access to King’s Cross St Pancras, Euston and Leicester Square, amongst many other stations.

The M1 motorway is also only a 20-minute drive away, which allows resident to ‘escape’ for the weekend quickly and efficiently!

It’s easy to see why Highgate is such a popular residential area and it has the prices to match…
