Meeting Your New Neighbours In London

Moving to a new location within London can often be very stressful, as there lots of things to consider, with one of the most stressful being meeting your new neighbours!

What are some recommended ways to meet your new neighbours in London?

Organise A Meetup Around Your Passion

If you have a passion for, say, reading or sports, organise a meetup around your passion.

If reading is your passion, then organise a free library outside your flat, where people in your block of flats can exchange books for free.

If sports is your passion, invite everyone in your block of flats to view one of the upcoming big matches! Of course, don’t forget to provide food and drinks!

Host A Party

Host a party for everyone in your block of flats or street!

Invite every neighbour round to yours and host a BBQ or host a bring your own food party, where everyone brings a dish of their choosing.

Food can be a great thing to bond over with neighbours and it can be a great way to meet people!

Simply Knock On People’s Front Door

Rather than hosting an elaborate party, one of the easiest things to do is to proactively try to meet everyone in your block of flats or on your street…

You can do this by posting a card/ letter through their door, by knocking on their door to then introduce yourself and or simply make as much of an effort to introduce yourself to people when you gave the opportunity!

Children’s Playdate

If you have children, an incredibly easy way to break the ice is to invite a parent with a child to have a playdate with your child if they are of a similar age!

You never know, they may well be attending the same local school as your child or may even be in your the same class!

Would you use any of these ideas when trying to meet new neighbours in London?
