The Rain, Sun, Butter and Milk Test

The word ‘test’ usually strikes fear into people…

I know that the way that I have worded this test may make you think of a science experiment gone wrong or some sort of bizarre culinary delight that I have stumbled upon!

Neither of these are (thankfully!) true…

This ‘test’ is one that will help you realise whether you want to live in a certain area or not…

It is a simple and quick test that you can do when you are viewing any London house.

1. Would I feel happy living here on a freezing cold, wet and windy day?

2. Will I receive much sunlight throughout the day in this property?

3. Which direction are the main windows and garden facing?

4. Would I feel safe going to get butter/ milk (essentially, any last minute food/ items!) from a nearby shop when it is dark in the evenings?

“It is a simple and quick test that you can do when you are viewing any house.”

When viewing your next potential London house, always imagine it as an empty shell without any furniture (which could be staged to improve the appeal of the property) and look at it in the worst case scenario…

Would it be nice to live here on a wet, windy, dreich (I am half Scottish!) day?

Or, would that fill you dread?
