Getting Your 3-Bed House Market Ready

If you need to sell your 3-bed property before you buy your next property, which is the case for the vast majority of home buyers, what are some things that you should think about doing to get your 3-bed home ‘market ready’…?

  • Look at your 3-bed home through the eyes of a potential buyer…

  • Kerb appeal is crucial. Cut any grass in the front garden (and back garden!) and make sure that your front door is painted, as well as the rest of the house. Make it look as appealing as possible!

  • Ensure that your photos for the online portals are taken by a professional.

  • Think about possibly using ‘lifestyle photographs’ for some of your photos to make it stand out.

  • Possibly clean and paint any kitchen cupboards to give them a new ‘lease of life’.

  • In terms of your bathroom(s), think about what a boutique hotel would look like - in terms of towels and the general layout of products…

  • Pleaseee put away any family photos - buyers want to imagine themselves living in your home, not you!!

  • Make sure that your bedrooms are clean and that they have fresh bed linens/ duvets, etc.

  • If you have a garage, make it as tidy as possible. Get rid of anything that you have been storing for decades as it is will look far more appealing to a buyer if it is an empty (or as near to empty as possible!!) space. They will be able to imagine and visualise how they can potentially use it…

“Look at your 3-bed home through the eyes of a potential buyer.”

When you go through this process, simply look at your 3-bed home through the eyes of a potential buyer

What would they like?

What would they dislike?

What would they possibly change?

What will make them offer less?

What will make them offer more?

If you do this and go into this process with an open mind, it will hold you in good stead…
