Are Pensioners Really Moving Out Of London?
The historic trend has been for pensioners to move out of London to the country or to live beside the sea…
This does make a lot of sense and is certainly something that people often think of doing and for good reasons…
A potentially so called ‘better lifestyle’, access to fresher air as well as cheaper prices (even in the likes of Sandbanks!) certainly make it appealing!
London is incredibly expensive.
There’s no escaping that!
Clients of mine that are selling their current 3-bed home and are looking to buy a large family home in London could be looking for a £5,000,000 property in one of the most sought after roads in Prime Central London or a £40,000,000 house in one of the most sought after roads of Holland Park or St John’s Wood…
Would they look into living in Sandbanks, Salcombe or Padstow?
Possibly!
However, a lot of pensioners are now actively choosing to move into London instead of moving out of London.
Why is this?
Transport is becoming ever important for pensioners…
The transport system in London rivals anywhere in the world, in my humble opinion..
It also means that you don’t have to necessarily own a car!
Pensioners can often afford London and are happy to live in a smaller property in London instead a country manor house in the country.
“A lot of pensioners are now actively choosing to move into London instead of moving out of London.”
Why would they be willing to give up their country lifestyle?
The atmosphere that it has to offer, as well as what London offers from a cultural standpoint is a huge selling point.
Some of the best hotels in the world are in London…
Some of the best restaurants in the world are in London…
London is a beautiful buzz of excitement and energy that people get drawn to!
I see it becoming even more popular for pensioners to move into London over the course of the next 10 years…
Have you ever considered moving further INTO London than further OUT of London?
